Paulo is a 6th Degree Black Belt. He is the Highest Black Belt in Australia. He has over 40 years Brazilian Jiu Jitsu training experience. Paulo has been a Black Belt since 1998. He is specialised in performance and competition training for adults and kids. Paulo is a former Brazilian Army close combat and self defence instructor – 5th Guard Company Amazon Jungle division- Military Police and Parachute troops. He was the 1st Brazilian BJJ Black Belt to live and open a BJJ gym in Australia, and he is the Founder and Director NSW Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation.

John started Taekwondo age 11yo before moving onto Muay Thai aged 13, after a year training had his first fight in Sydney aged 14 and never looked back. Age 17 he won his first title, a WKA Australian title against Mark Pease and aged 19 won a South Pacific title. John Gunslinger" Parr, also known as JWP, is a retired Australian Muay Thai fighter, kickboxer and boxer, fighting out of Boonchu Gym in Gold Coast, Queensland. He is a former 10-time World Champion and was the runner up on The Contender Asia
Jim 6th Dan Degree Black Belt Kyokushin Karate has been training and teaching kyokushin Karate for over 45 years producing many of Australia's top fighters and black Belts. In 1979, he was chosen to represent Australia at the 2nd world Championships held in Tokyo Japan. He stayed on training 7 days a week 3 classes a day at the Kyokushin HQ. He was of the first people to complete 50 man fight test in 1986. He still teaches running clubs in Sydney NSW.

By the time you read this, I will have returned, all being well, to the routines of my usual life. But right now as I write this article, I am actually in transit, on one of my ‘time-out excursions’ far from the trappings of civilisation. WHAT ABOUT LETTING GO?
I dislike the idea of letting go of the attacker’s arm with one hand so that you can strike or gouge. I feel this is a very risky tactic unless you already have them immobilized against a wall, the ground or managed to pin their limb with your body. You have worked so hard to achieve two-handed control over their weapon arm, why now risk them recovering by letting go with one hand? ......

THE DRILLS
The heavy rope in our gym — affectionately nicknamed Anna, short for ‘anaconda’ — is used a number of different ways. A common exercise employed for overall conditioning and a cardiovascular workout is waving it in an up-and-down motion, as shown in the attached pictures. The rope goes around a fixed pole and whips up the pole, which is an indicator of your action.....
